The last few years has seen a revolution in the Australian financial advice community. Amid increasing regulatory intervention and political scrutiny, a growing number of advisers have chosen to obtain their own licenses or join non-aligned dealer groups, fuelling the momentum of the Australian independent financial advice (IFA) movement.

But while the movement has been growing, alongside rising consumer demand for independence and scepticism of the institutions, the community is splintered into various associations and factions and is geographically it is spread across the map.

For the very first time, IFA-CON will bring together the broad church of the independent and non-aligned movement, celebrating its success and planning for the future.

Licensees, advisers and principals will network with like-minded professionals, discuss the industry’s big issues and begin to build a more cohesive sense of community that is better organised politically, better at collaboration and competition, and better at selling itself to consumers.

Billed as a “political convention for IFAs”, this is a must-attend milestone event for all financial advisers that value their independence and are ready to build a new contract with consumers.
